Hey everyone! I’m Kayla. Of the two of us, I’m the adventurous one and the one who’s always busy. Seth likes to say that I want to go to the moon and he wants to stay home. We usually end on some kind of compromise, but I’m slowly getting him to branch further and further out! Compromise used to be Chicago. Now it’s Mexico. I’m really very convincing.
As for being busy, I just have a lot that I want to accomplish and not nearly enough time to do it all! I am generally working at least two jobs, including the entire time I was in college working on my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree, mostly to make sure I could live and finish school at the same time #millennialproblems. Now, I’m working hard to get rid of those pesky student loans, but I’m also trying to get back into working out (my second love, after horses) and going out to see my horse, Bones, more. On top of that, we’ve pretty much always got a renovation project on deck at our house, I’ve usually got ideas for at least one more project, we’ve got our zoo full of animals to care for, plus regular life stuff like laundry. Oh and occasionally I like to actually relax with my husband without having something else to work on at the same time. Somehow we make it all work most of the time. It has a lot to do with him being very relaxed when I come home with blue hair (see above) or yelling excitedly about a trip or a project. I really don’t know how he tolerates me sometimes.
I’m also usually the planner, although Seth comes up with something brilliant every now and then. I am always planning something, or trying to figure out how to make it easier for me to plan more things. I’m pretty sure the day I got an Android and figured out I could have a whole page as my Google calendar was a turning point in my organizational life. The world is always devolving slowly into chaos (Second Law of Thermodynamics: entropy of a system is always increasing) but I’ll fight it forever!
